President and Chief Executive Officer, Golf San Antonio and the Valero Texas Open
Tony Piazzi is currently the President / Chief Executive Officer of Golf San Antonio and the Valero Texas Open.
He began his career in sports marketing in 1988 with the Western Golf Association in Chicago as Tournament Manager of the Ameritech Senior Open. From there, he moved to the Quad Cities where he was Tournament Director of the Quad City Classic for six years. Tony moved to San Antonio in 1996 to assume his current responsibilities.
Prior to his move into golf, Tony worked in telecommunications as a National Account Manager for Illinois Bell and Ameritech. He began his career with Illinois Bell and AT&T in Chicago back in 1981 as an Account Executive.
Tony graduated from the University of Illinois in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.
In addition to his work for Golf San Antonio, Tony is actively involved in several organizations. He is a former Officer and Board Member of the PGA Tour Tournament Association and chaired that organization’s television and marketing committees. He is on the Board of the San Antonio Children’s Foundation and is a past board member of the Greater San Antonio Chamber’s Tourism Council. Tony currently serves as an independent director on the Board of the South Texas Section of the PGA of America.
Tony and his wife, Lisa, are natives of the Chicago area. They have two children, Natalie Kathleen and Noelle Analise, who are the “native Texans” in their family.
