Bill Tucker is the Senior Pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio, where he has served for eight years.

Bill married his wife, Julie, in 1985. They have been blessed with four children: three sons, Nicholas, Michael, and Jeffrey and a daughter, Katherine (Katie).

From 1979-83, Bill attended Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. His major was Theological Languages (Greek, Hebrew, Latin, German, and French). From there he went on to Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1987.

Bill served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles, Illinois, and he and his wife, Julie, planted a new church, Shepherd of the Valley in LaSalle/Peru, Illinois. He was Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect, Illinois for thirteen years before coming to San Antonio, Texas. For the first six years at St. Paul he was an associate pastor, and for the last seven years he served as Senior Pastor. Pastor Tucker was called to be Senior Pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas in 2001 and was installed on November 25, 2001.  Under Pastor Tucker’s leadership, Concordia has grown from 1,300 to over 2,400 in attendance each weekend.

Bill also served as a Marine Corps chaplain in the United States Naval Reserve. While serving in Mount Prospect he was very involved in the community, serving in a variety of roles, including chaplain for the Police and Fire departments for 12 years. Bill also coached a number of youth sports teams in the community.

Bill and Julie enjoy hiking and other sports along with a wide variety of outdoor activities. They also enjoy reading, music, and movies. Bill has an interest in technology, computers, and photography.
