JOE MANGIONE, President of Four J International Company, is a true example of an entrepreneur. He began his life living on welfare with his parents and five siblings with no kitchen, slept in an unfinished attic with no sheetrock, heat or air and a rope stretching from one beam to another beam for his closet in a ceiling full of daddy long leg spiders. He truly had every disadvantage for one not to succeed. Joe learned ambition early in life and began working at the age of 9 to help support his family with his brother. Today, he’s done over HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in real estate deals and done countless multi-million dollars in business.
Mr. Mangione spent 6 years in the Air Force as a military policeman. After the military he sold fuller brushes door to door in New York. He then became one of the best sales reps for Prudential Insurance in Westchester County, NY while attaining his real estate brokerage license. Joe then moved to Texas in 1964 and sold door to door and worked as a manager trainee at Handy Andy grocery stores until he was fired (which was very devastating at the time). He then began his real estate career while working at Kelly Air Force Base as a policeman. He then bought, built and sold more than 100 homes and started buying land. He then built his first asset, a mobile home park, followed by the building of homes from 300,000 up to 4,500,000 in value, also buying motels and apartments, building duplexes, offices, retail shopping and purchasing and brokering over 8000 acres of commercial and residential land. Joe has bought, sold and managed scores of businesses. Everything from lumber to car dealerships, landscape, concrete company, exercise, stove, management company(over 400 properties) construction company, Gunite Pool company, office warehouses, etc.
He is often referred to as a Texas Real Estate TITAN.
He purchased over a 1000 acres of land for the Mills Mall in Houston, Texas and Cleveland, Ohio. He has worked on many other commercial lands including the River Walk of San Antonio. He has also been involved in sales of large residential resort and golf course developments and a 400 unit condo project and most recently put together and leased some large (approximately 1000 acres) acreage in South Texas to major oil companies. Mangione has developed, bought and sold properties in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Arkansas, Ohio, New York, New Mexico, Chicago, Nevada, Colorado, Florida, England and South America. He brought Lego land (Denmark) into Texas to develop a Lego Land Theme Park and also worked with The Edmonton Mall Developers in Canada who built the largest mall in the world at the time to bring them into San Antonio, Texas.
Joe has always been good at finding the right property at the right time, like land on the Rio Golf course and residential homes in the Las Vegas area. He now has his future on the oil and gas business. The current “Real Estate market is flat..I like action and I plan to do the same thing in the oil field that I did in Real Estate.. The Secret is to “think big”, thank the lord for the talent he gave me and especially giving back to others in need.”
