James W. (Bill) Mock – 7/2/11

Executive Vice President, The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce

Bill Mock currently serves as the Executive Vice President for The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Mock began his employment with The Chamber in January 1994 after a 30-year career in the United States Air Force where he retired with the rank of Colonel.

Mock’s initial assignment with The Chamber in 1994 was directing the Military Affairs Department. In 1995 he moved to the Small Business Department as the Vice President for Small Business/Area Business Councils. In August of 1998 Mock was reassigned to the Membership Department as the Vice President of Membership. Mock served in this capacity until August 2002 when he returned to the Small Business Resource Center as the Vice President of Area Business Councils/Small Business.

Mock was appointed to the position of Vice President for Economic Development in January 2004 and he served in this capacity until January 2007 when he assumed the position of Senior Vice President for Administration and Personnel. In January 2009 Mock was named Executive Vice President of The Chamber.

Mock was born in Albany, Georgia. He is a graduate of Saint Bernard College a private liberal arts school with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Mock also completed post graduate work with the University of Oklahoma in 1978 and was awarded a Masters degree in Public Administration in 1979.

Mock is married to Dr. Shirley Boteler Mock and they have two sons James and Eric.
