James R. Dublin is chairman/chief executive officer of Dublin and Associates, Inc., and serves in an advice-and-counsel role for top executives on a wide array of public relations and public affairs issues, including many crisis management situations. He develops and directs local, regional and national public relations programs for a variety of clients.
Jim worked actively on “Team Toyota” which helped pave the way for Toyota to locate a new, $800-million, 2,000-job truck manufacturing plant in San Antonio. In the process, Toyota has become a client for Dublin & Associates. The plant opens in November, 2006.
In 1983, he helped found the Texas Research & Technology Foundation, which manages the 900-acre Texas Research Park in San Antonio and is dedicated toward establishing San Antonio as a major national center for biotechnology and new technology development of all sorts. He is a charter member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and has served as Chairman of the Board in 2005-2006.
Jim is a board member of the San Antonio Medical Foundation, the Free Trade Alliance of San Antonio, a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business, board member of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, past chairman of the Texas Independent College Fund, past member of the Executive Committee of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, past president of Junior Achievement of South Texas and served as chairman of the 1984 and 1985 Texas Folklife Festival. He was named Outstanding Young Man in San Antonio for 1981 by the San Antonio Jaycees and was selected as one of the 10 “Rising Stars of Texas” of 1986 by Texas Business magazine.
