Founder, President, Chief Science Officer, Incell Corp
Dr. Mary Pat Moyer is a biomedical scientist, entrepreneur, technology business leader, and community activist. She founded the innovative life sciences company, INCELL, an emerging biopharmaceutical company focused on personalized medicine and innovations in her areas of expertise: regenerative medicine, stem cells, cancer, and microbiology. Dr. Moyer leads INCELL’s collaborations and new product and services pipeline, e.g., adult stem cell banking and applications; human tumor cell collection, culture and therapeutic options for cancer patients; non-needle vaccines (e.g., HIV, influenza, smallpox, biodefense); and more. She is an elected fellow of the American Academy for Microbiology; consults for national and international government agencies (e.g., WHO, NIH, NASA, DoD), universities and industry; and has numerous scientific publications including a book “Colon Cancer Cells”.
Dr. Moyer is also Co-Founder and CEO of TEKSA Innovations Corp., (www.teksa.net) a for-profit business accelerator-incubator which is focused on building biosciences businesses. She is President of the San Antonio Life Science Assn (SALSA) and has leadership roles in the Texas Technology Initiative, BioMedSA, most state and regional efforts in biotechnology, science and education over the past 25 years, and has co-founded several for-profit and non-profit entities. As a passionate advocate she is on many advisory boards and committees, and is a member of many scientific and business organizations. Currently, she is a member of the International Centre for Infectious Disease of Canada board, and the Biodefense Product Development Working Group for NIH. She is also an adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio UTHSCSA, where she served for over 20 years as Director of the Center for Human Cell Biotechnology and Professor of Surgery, Microbiology and Molecular Medicine.
Her leadership, biomedical, and business recognition or awards include: E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year, international Athena Award, NAWBO Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, SAWCC “Women of Voice and Vision”, SABJ “Healthcare Hero”, AAUW “Breaking the Glass Ceiling”, “Small Business Leadership”, “Faces of the Medical Community”, Governor’s Recognition Award for Texas Women in Leadership, Alamo Workforce Leadership Innovation award, and one of the “Top Ten Texas CEOs in Life Sciences”. She has also been recognized as a published poet.
