Brig Gen (Ret) Gary H. Murray is serving our veteran population by providing dental care in the South Texas Veterans Health Care System. He is responsible for comprehensive dental care for a large patient population, and he works full-time. Dr. Murray is married to the former Jeannie Walker of Monticello, Illinois and they have two children: Meg Murray of Hoboken, NJ and Lt. Todd Murray of McGuire Air Force Base, NJ.

Brig. Gen. (Dr.) Gary H. Murray was Commander, Air Force Medical Operations Agency, and Assistant Surgeon General, Dental Services, Bolling Air Base, Washington, D.C. As the commander of AFMOA, he served as a key adviser to the Air Force Surgeon General. He was responsible for developing and implementing plans, practices and procedures relevant to health services worldwide. He was also responsible for medical investigations. He provided guidance and exercises military command for a staff of 148 assigned to AFMOAs nine divisions.

General Murray was born in San Francisco, Calif. He received his dental degree from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry in 1973 and earned his certification from the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry in 1986 and has served as an examining board member. He is a diplomat of the American Board of General Dentistry. General Murray is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
