Caryn Hasslocher is part of the second generation of Hasslochers to make an impressive mark on the San Antonio food industry.
Hasslocher, a certified meeting planner, is president of destination-management company Alamo City Events and Fresh Horizons Creative Catering, a full-service catering company that she established in 1981. She oversees a large staff of chefs, sales team, production managers, service staff, and bartenders which has earned a stellar reputation for service at weddings, company meetings, conventions and special events.
Smart growth and expansion led Hasslocher to sell the original Fresh Horizons property on North New Braunfels in 1995 and built the current off-premise catering commissary, warehouse and offices at 2020 Broadway.
Tapping into her experience and resources as a sought-after caterer, Hasslocher formed Alamo City Events in 1997, further expanding her business into the corporate, social and convention markets.
Hasslocher is married to Anthony Koch, together they have 6 children and 4 grandchildren. She is an active member of more than a dozen civic and professional organizations. She is past president of the Alamo Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives and a co-founder of the International Society of Event Specialists, Alamo Chapter.
She currently serves as Executive Board member of the San Antonio Area Tourism Council as Membership Chair. She was President, 2005-2006, of the National Association of Women Business Owners San Antonio Chapter, which honored her with its Entrepreneurial Spirit Award in 1999. She received the Outstanding Small Business Leader of the Year Award from the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce in 2000.
The San Antonio Business Journal has also honored Caryn as an Outstanding Business Leader.
