Brian McCoy

Brian McCoy was born in Galveston, Texas, and graduated from Ball High School in 1972. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1975 with a BBA in finance.

Brian married his high school sweetheart, Wetonnah Lane, in 1976, and they have two grown children, both married, and three grandchildren.

Brian has been actively involved with McCoy’s from the age of 17. Yard hand, truck driver, floor sales, assistant store manager, store manager, merchandise manager, Vice President, Co-President and presently CEO and Chairman of the Board are all positions he has held during the past 38 years at McCoy’s.

McCoy’s Building Supply is privately-held by Brian’s family and operates 83 locations in 5 states, with annual sales of $538 million in 2009. The McCoy Team serves independent Home Builders, repair/remodel Contractors and project oriented Do-It-Yourselfers as targeted customers.

Brian is also a partner in McCoy Remme Ranches, a cow-calf operation with land holdings in far West Texas. He serves on the Board of the Lumbermen’s Association of Texas and Intimate Life Ministries.

Brian was selected for the Samaritan Center’s Ethics in Business Award in Austin in 2003. The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce chose him as Business Person of the Year in 2004. In 2006 he was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus of the Rawls College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University. Personal interests include reading, travel, swimming, and walking.

Meagan McCoy Jones

Meagan McCoy Jones grew up in San Marcos, Texas and graduated from the San Marcos Baptist Academy in 2000. She graduated from the University of Richmond in 2004 with a BA in Rhetoric and Communication Studies and from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 with a MA in Communication Studies. While at Richmond, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Meagan worked part-time at McCoy’s Building Supply in Georgetown, Texas as a salesperson while in graduate school. Upon graduation, she joined McCoy’s full-time in the Corporate Development department with the specific goal of learning all facets of McCoy’s Headquarters operations. During that time she also worked with the Texas Legislature on behalf of McCoy’s to revise the Business Franchise Tax. In August 2007, Meagan began a one-year term as Assistant Store Manager of the McCoy’s facility in Manchaca, Texas.

At the end of her year in the field, Meagan began her current role as the Director of Field Support, focusing on improving the efficiencies of the business, traveling to McCoy’s 83 locations, and serving as a member of the Executive Team. She is the fourth generation to work in her family’s business.

Meagan is a member of the Board of Directors of McCoy Corporation, she serves the Lumbermen’s Association of Texas as Co-Chair of the legislative committee, and she is a Trustee of LUMPAC, LAT’s political action committee and of Home PAC, the political action committee of the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin. Meagan is married to Richard Jones and they have one son, Gideon.
