He grew this business from one-man, garage operation to over 400 professionals – creating the largest San Antonio-based defense contractor for professional services. Karta was acquired by NCI Information Systems, Inc (Nasdaq: NCIT) while G.P. was the majority shareholder in June of 2007; he continued to serve on the Board of Directors of NCI Information Systems (Nasdaq: NCIT) from 2007 to 2010. G.P. holds both a Master’s and doctoral degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics from Drexel University. He worked at Southwest Research Institute as a Senior Research Engineer and later joined joined the engineering faculty at UTSA. In 1986 he formed Karta Technologies, Inc.

Mr. Labatt currently serves as a member of the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). He was appointed by Governor Rick Perry on February 12, 2002. The TWDB is a six member board that provides leadership, technical services and financial assistance to support planning, conservation and responsible development of water for the State of Texas. The TWDB provides loans and grants totaling approximately $550,000,000 annually for drinking water and waste water projects. In addition, the TWDB is responsible for the statewide water plan as directed by Senate Bill 1, which was passed by the state legislature in 1999.

LTG (Ret) Frank Ledford was sworn in as the thirty-seventh Surgeon General of the Army on June 16, 1988. General Ledford was born in Jacksonville, Florida on 22 April 1934. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton and was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati. General Ledford’s additional medical specialty training includes an internship at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas; a pre-specialty surgical residency at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; an orthopaedic surgery residency at Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco, California; and a residency in children’s surgery at the Phoenix Arizona Crippled Children’s Hospital. His military education includes the Army Medical Department Basic and Advanced Officer courses, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

Jimmy Cavender was born on March 14th, 1930 to James M. Cavender, Jr. and his wife Nancy along with his twin brother William B. “Billy” Cavender. As young boys the twins enjoyed playing in their Alamo Heights neighborhood on Rosemary Drive attending Alamo Heights High School. Jimmy was president of his senior graduating class in 1948. The family loved taking road trips up to the Frio River in Leakey, Texas where they still have residence to this day. Jimmy’s grandfather Dr. James M. Cavender, Sr. was from the small town of Sabinal where he worked as a dentist for the area surrounding this hill country community after retiring from his dental practice in San Antonio.

He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 31 years and worked for the American Heart Association from 1992 through 1999. Jim is currently working for the San Antonio Medical Foundation.

Tony Piazzi is currently the President / Chief Executive Officer of Golf San Antonio and the Valero Texas Open. He began his career in sports marketing in 1988 with the Western Golf Association in Chicago as Tournament Manager of the Ameritech Senior Open. From there, he moved to the Quad Cities where he was Tournament Director of the Quad City Classic for six years. Tony moved to San Antonio in 1996 to assume his current responsibilities.
